Seven Writing Links -- Volume 164

Based on the comments from Wednesday's IWSG post about my dream of becoming a full time writer, it seems a fair number of you discovered that having more time to write didn't always translate into being more productive. Point taken. I'm not giving up my day job anytime soon.

    One other reason to keep a job - you can share your books with your co-workers. I know that doesn't sound like a great marketing tip, but my husband has managed to interest at least three of his co-workers in my books in casual conversations at the lunch table.

  5. We tend to fill our time with what gives us the most pleasure, and sometimes writing can be a daunting chore, so we put it off. When it's not, then the words come and we feel so good. I'm speaking, of course, from my own experience. Jobs or other diversions can often take the place of writing. I don't think that's bad. In fact, some of my best ideas come when I'm off doing what I think of as menial things, like grocery shopping. Great links!
