The Insecure Writer and Co-Hosting the Insecure Writers Support Group
Today is September's contribution to Alex Cavanaugh's Insecure Writers Support Group.
Why am I an Insecure Writer this month?
Because of the awesome responsibility of being one of the co-hosts for this month’s Insecure Writers Support Group.
For those of you new to this group, the IWSG was created by Alex Cavanaugh as an outlet for writers to express their insecurities to other writers, almost all of whom have their own anxieties. It’s an incredibly supportive group, so if you’re an insecure writer, click on the link above and join up. We meet the first Wednesday of every month.
The other co-hosts this month are SL Hennessy, Michelle Wallace, and Joylene Nowell Butler! Be sure to stop by their blogs and say hello.
Again, many thanks to Alex, both for creating this bloghop and for inviting me aboard.

Oh gosh... being a co-host is definitely something to be insecure about, LOL! That's a lot of work. Good luck visiting all those sites! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's really not too bad. I try to visit a lot of the blogs every month anyway. this time I made sure I started earlier in the morning. thanks for the good wishes
DeleteIt's nice to meet you Ken! Thanks for co-hosting the IWSG, and I'm sure that you'll do a great job!
ReplyDeleteJulie
Your welcome. I'm sure I'll be stopping by your blog soon.
DeleteI think you'll perform this task with great results and much success!
ReplyDeleteHave a great september!
Thanks. September and October are my favorite months of the year!
DeleteThat made me laugh!
ReplyDeleteNo worries - you're going to be an awesome co-host today. Appreciate your help.
Again, it's my pleasure, Alex. I've made so many friends through the IWSG.
DeleteWait a minute. What is so hard about being a host? I don't get it. You don't have to clean your house, prepare refreshments, or even stand up to greet us. LOL..Have fun visiting! Thanks for hosting. Next time,I will at least expect some chocolate cake.
ReplyDeleteMmmmmm..... chocolate cake. Just thinking about it makes me hungry. thanks for the comment!
DeleteHi Ken! Thanks for co-hosting this month :)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. I'm sure I'll be stopping by your blog today.
DeleteHi, Ken! Thanks for co-hosting! I am a fan of chemistry too. Thanks for stepping outside of you comfort zone. Maybe I will too. Happy IWSG Day!
ReplyDeleteYay! It's always great to find someone else who likes chemistry. Happy IWSG Day to you too.
DeleteI don't know how you guys manage the IWSG. It blows my mind every month!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how Alex keeps it up either. I'm just helping out a little. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteThanks so much for co-hosting, Ken! You rock!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment. Now all I have to do is convince my kids that I rock too.
DeleteThanks for the comment.
Wednesday September 2013
ReplyDeleteHi Ken,
Nice to meet you.
Chemistry? A subject that I wish I was better at. I'd like to learn metal-smithing (gold-silver etc.) and make jewellery out of gold and silver.
Alas, I'm just a beader ana a wannabee-writer.
I have read all of the Harry Potter books in two languages and, together with my two school-aged children, seen all of the films. It's a wonderful world where I often escape when everyday reality gets the better of me.
But so far, I have not been tempted to write anything in connection to that world, even if I have tried writing a handful short stories with some supernatural aspects.
I am so curious how a chemist writes about Harry Potter. Actually there is a lot of chemistry in the HP books if you accept potion-making as a sort of chemistry!
I don't own a Kindle. I would love to read anything that you have written, if it is on paper.
Best wishes,
Anna
Anna's ISWG for September
As a chemist who has 1) studied alchemy (a component of Rowling's stories), 2)who considers potion-making a definite form of chemistry, 3) who loves castles, 4) who loves all things British, 5) and who loves to read about magic, it was kind of a natural fit when you think about it.
DeleteI kind of got started when I began wondering how Rowling might go about writing another series of books in the Harry Potter world. Soon I had so many ideas I just couldn't let them go to waste.
I would love for you to read my Hogwarts story and give me your opinion. Too be honest, I'm looking for all the readers I can get, because I want to make the story the best it can be.
Thanks for stopping by.
Awesome responsibility is right - but you're pulling it off so well! Congratulations, and Happy IWSG Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm definitely looking forward to the weekend so I can relax a little.
DeleteGlad you stopped by.
It's a huge undertaking to visit so many blogs. Thanks for being a co-host and supporting other insecure writers/artists.
ReplyDeleteAll these other writers have helped support me. It's the least I can do. Thanks for the comment.
DeleteThanks for co-hosting! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for co-hosting, and for lending your support to the rest of us. :)
ReplyDeleteCo-hosting is definitely stressful. So many bloggers, so little time. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteShort, sweet and to the point! I LOVE that photo! My husband is a chemical engineer so I can appreciate your getting right to the point, and the artistry you have here! Hidden gems...
ReplyDeleteSeems you're doing a fine job so far. I enjoyed cohosting last month. It was fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks for co-hosting. I co-hosted a few months back, it was hectic but I managed to enjoy myself.
ReplyDeleteThanks for co-hosting! It's a big job, and we're all glad Alex knew when to call in the reinforcements! Good luck, and have fun jumping through the blogs!
ReplyDeleteI think you've done just fine! No reason to worry. You're in good company:)
ReplyDeleteOh shoot, I wasn't nervous until I read your post. But now I am! LOL. Kennnnnnnn!
ReplyDeleteThank you for co-hosting!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. Looks like you're doing your job!
ReplyDeleteHey, Ken, thanks for the encouragement! I'm glad you're hosting, or I'd never have found out I was dropped from the list. Two pieces of chocolate cake for being brave enough to bear and bare the bad news. Arggh!
ReplyDeleteStopping by for a visit to your stunning blog! I am an insecure writer...probably because I haven't gotten past writing in spiral notebooks! Ha Ha I just signed up for an interesting goal hop...and stated my goals, I think it will help!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a great co-host! Alex had visited my blog earlier, I hadn't posted my insecure post yet...it is up now of course, and I felt so bad! He is a busy, busy man...I hope I didn't offend or waste his trip there!! I usually get them up the night before...oh well, hopefully he will stop back by another time.
