The Insecure Writer and Co-Hosting the Insecure Writers Support Group

Today is September's contribution to Alex Cavanaugh's Insecure Writers Support Group.

Why am I an Insecure Writer this month?

Because of the awesome responsibility of being one of the co-hosts for this month’s Insecure Writers Support Group.

For those of you new to this group, the IWSG was created by Alex Cavanaugh as an outlet for writers to express their insecurities to other writers, almost all of whom have their own anxieties. It’s an incredibly supportive group, so if you’re an insecure writer, click on the link above and join up. We meet the first Wednesday of every month.

The other co-hosts this month are SL Hennessy, Michelle Wallace, and Joylene Nowell Butler! Be sure to stop by their blogs and say hello.

Again, many thanks to Alex, both for creating this bloghop and for inviting me aboard.

  5. Wait a minute. What is so hard about being a host? I don't get it. You don't have to clean your house, prepare refreshments, or even stand up to greet us. LOL..Have fun visiting! Thanks for hosting. Next time,I will at least expect some chocolate cake.

  10. Wednesday September 2013
    Hi Ken,
    Nice to meet you.
Chemistry? A subject that I wish I was better at. I'd like to learn metal-smithing (gold-silver etc.) and make jewellery out of gold and silver.
    Alas, I'm just a beader ana a wannabee-writer.

I have read all of the Harry Potter books in two languages and, together with my two school-aged children, seen all of the films. It's a wonderful world where I often escape when everyday reality gets the better of me.

But so far, I have not been tempted to write anything in connection to that world, even if I have tried writing a handful short stories with some supernatural aspects.

I am so curious how a chemist writes about Harry Potter. Actually there is a lot of chemistry in the HP books if you accept potion-making as a sort of chemistry!

I don't own a Kindle. I would love to read anything that you have written, if it is on paper.

    Best wishes,
    Anna

    1. As a chemist who has 1) studied alchemy (a component of Rowling's stories), 2)who considers potion-making a definite form of chemistry, 3) who loves castles, 4) who loves all things British, 5) and who loves to read about magic, it was kind of a natural fit when you think about it.

I kind of got started when I began wondering how Rowling might go about writing another series of books in the Harry Potter world. Soon I had so many ideas I just couldn't let them go to waste.

I would love for you to read my Hogwarts story and give me your opinion. Too be honest, I'm looking for all the readers I can get, because I want to make the story the best it can be.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  23. Stopping by for a visit to your stunning blog! I am an insecure writer...probably because I haven't gotten past writing in spiral notebooks! Ha Ha I just signed up for an interesting goal hop...and stated my goals, I think it will help!

Thanks for being a great co-host! Alex had visited my blog earlier, I hadn't posted my insecure post yet...it is up now of course, and I felt so bad! He is a busy, busy man...I hope I didn't offend or waste his trip there!! I usually get them up the night before...oh well, hopefully he will stop back by another time.
